Students in Years 5 & 6 are invited to attend an excursion to the Centennial Parklands on Monday 21st June 2021. The students will be attending this excursion as part of our Science and Technology unit - Living World;Adaptations. Students will participate in inquiry-based learning activities through conducting a field study into animal adaptation and survival of Flying Foxes colonies. Students will need to bring their own food for recess and lunch, wear full school uniform and wear a school hat.
Our teachers will be conducting Parent/Caregivers Interviews during the week beginning 21 June, 2021. I would like to invite you to meet with your child's classroom teacher to discuss your child's progress at school. St Marys South Public School will be celebrating NAIDOC week (National Aborigines and Islander Day Observance Committee) on Thursday 24th June from 9am until 1pm. Students and Staff are encouraged to participate in the day by wearing red, black or yellow mufti clothes. During the day, students will be participating in a variety of creative and practical Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander activities around this year's theme of Heal Country.
Kindergarten are invited to attend an excursion to Golden Ridge Animal Farm, Dural on Tuesday 20 July 2021. This excursion has been planned to supplement Science and Technology with a focus on living things, their characteristics, needs, behaviours and the environment in which they live. Students are required to bring their own recess, lunch and drink bottle. Students are to wear full school uniform, including a school hat.
Students who wish to be considered for Year 5 Opportunity Class placement will sit the test on Wednesday 21 July 2021. The test will consist of thinking skills, mathematical reasoning and reading comprehension. If you would like to have your child considered for Year 5 Opportunity Class entry in 2022, you need to apply before Friday 7 May 2021.
